Introduction to GLOBE and Landsat Data and Classroom Applications

The GLOBE database provides abundant opportunities to initiate student research and inquiry learning. The session will focus on the use of the GLOBE data archives of student-collected data and GLOBE -provided Landsat sub-scenes to facilitate student inquiry and research. We will explore the GLOBE (www.globe.gov) database and visualization tools that help facilitate data gathering, comparison, and interpretation. . Participants will also learn to use MultiSpec image processing software to characterize land use and land cover via Landsat data.
