| Please note that some of the data sets are quite large. Making global scale maps of these data would take too long
to display and they would not even be usable. For example, displaying all roads in a global scale map will not
provide you any information, the map will be all black, and it will take long time to generate it. To prevent this
type of problem, we restricted certain data sets from smaller scale maps. That is to say that even if you selected
these data sets, they will not be plotted at small scales. They will be plotted once you zoom in on certain regions.
The restricted data sets are: ISC seismicity, Roads, Main and Small cities, and Railroads. They will only be displayed
if the scale you are making a map for stays above a certain limit. If you would like to make a global seismicity
map, It is recommended that you use the IDC seismicity option. The number of events in this data sets are much
fewer, and hence the output will look reasonable. |
