EDUCATION
1994-Present Geological Sciences, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, USA.
  • Ph.D. (in progress)
  • Thesis Title: Lithospheric Structure and Seismotectonics of the Gibraltar Arc and Alboran Sea of Northern Morocco and Southern Spain
  • Major: Seismology, Minors: Geophysics and Hydrology
  • GPA 3.9/4.0
  • Worked with COCORP, processing and modeling seismic reflection data from the Himalayas for project INDEPTH.
  • Worked on an interdisciplinary study of active tectonics in northeastern Morocco. Digital waveforms collected by the Moroccan national seismological network were used in conjunction with industry seismic reflection data and remote sensing databases to investigate the most seismically active region in Morocco.
  • Presently collaborating with Spanish (IAG and IGN) and Moroccan (CNCPRST) institutions in a velocity tomography study of the Alboran area of the western Mediterranean to constrain geodynamic models for the region (Project Summary).
1990-1993 Keble College, Oxford University, England.
  • Bachelor of Arts in Physics (2:1)
  • Advanced options in:
    • Physical Optics and Laser Physics
    • Nuclear and Particle Physics
1985-1990 Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.
  • GCE: Ordinary Levels Mathematics (A), English Language (B).
  • GCSE: Combined Science (AA), Additional Maths (A), French (A), Latin (A),

  • Design & Technology (A), History (A), English Literature (B).
  • GCE: Advanced Levels Further Mathematics (A), Maths (A), Physics (A), Chemistry (A).
  • GCE: Special Levels Mathematics (1), Physics (1).

WORK EXPERIENCE
  • June-Aug, 1997:  Amoco Corporation, Houston, Texas, USA.

  • Investigated influence of structural and acquitisition geometries on subsalt illumination.
  • Sept-Oct,  1993: Halliburton Geophysical Services, Bedford, England.

  • Wrote Software for analyzing data distributions in 3D seismic surveys.
  • July, 1988: K.S.E.P.L. ( Shell Research Laboratory ), Rijswijk, Netherlands.
